Miami Keeps up the Heat with Win Over the Spurs, 118-113

The Miami Heat extends its winning streak to five after coming back against the San Antonio Spurs

Down 19 early with little to no offense and defensive problems?

No problem.

The Miami Heat, led by center Bam Adebayo, rattled off three-straight quarters with 30 plus points, starting in the second that erased a 19-point San Antonio lead and reduced it to three heading into halftime.

All eyes were going to be on Adebayo and how he would fare against rookie sensation Victor Wenbemyama and Adebayo came out on top. He was a big reason why Wenbemyama shot 8-22 from the field and caused seven turnovers. On the other end, Adebayo had another 20-point, 10-rebound game with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

In a game of runs, the Heat came out on top as they had 17-0, 18-5 and 12-0 runs that ultimately secured a late lead in the fourth.

With the injury to guard Tyler Herro and rest from guard Kyle Lowry, forward Duncan Robinson stepped up big time.

He scored 26 points, including a couple of buckets on Wenbenyama himself.

Robinson also had a nice step-back three that helped the Heat cut down a Spurs lead to two and the Heat never looked back.

Overall, the Heat weathered the early storm by the Spurs and responded with a couple of runs on their own, led by Adebayo and Robinson. Guard Josh Richardson and forward Jimmy Butler also tacked on timely buckets in crunch time to keep the Spurs at bay and close out 118-113.

Coach Erik Spoelstra has to be happy with what he has seen and with the win, the Heat go to 6-4 on the season and are fourth in the Eastern Conference standings after starting the season 1-4 and will face the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday, Nov. 14 in the NBA In-Season Tournament.
