Miami shows early signs of offensive struggles from stars Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry on top of a defensive breakdown.
The Miami Heat lost to the Chicago Bulls in the 2022-2023 season opener. Though there were some positives such as Tyler Herro stepping up and being in a comfortable offensive rhythm and Jimmy Butler staying aggressive, the Heat ultimately came undone by the lack of offensive production from Kyle Lowry and Bam Adebayo. They combined for an ugly 6-22 from the field and though Bam was able to be productive in other areas such as defense and rebounding, Kyle was a non-factor. His usual remarkable passes were nowhere to be seen, registering a low 4 ASTs. In the wake of Zach LaVine missing the game due to left knee management, DeMar DeRozen stepped up, going for a game-high 37 PTs. The absence of P.J. Tucker is also felt, especially on the defensive end as the Heat gave up many easy points at the basket, especially during the second half.

The Miami Heat will look to bounce back and be in the win column this season as they take on the Boston Celtics on Friday, Oct. 21, in what should be a very good and challenging game, especially with the Celtics coming off a sound win against the Philadephia 76ers.
